We have completed various 3D CAD modelling projects in support of FEA modelling. We can also run basic FEA using our Solidworks Premium system, which is a low cost option of checking hand calculations or identifying areas that require further investigation using more capable analysis software. Some example projects we have supported:
- Working from laser scan data, we supplied an as built model of the support structure under a helicopter flight deck of an offshore support vessel for analysis by others.
- Modelling and initial analysis to look at various options for crane bases, winch beds and structural loadings on workboats. Working with Naval Architects, we can quickly model up structural details and apply basic FEA for discussion of stress hotspots, magnitudes and any areas that they feel require advanced analysis by other software.
