We are particularly experienced in laser scanning of boats and ships, having completed over 70 projects recording hulls, tank spaces, machinery, and pipework spaces on some 120 different vessels. Captured data has been used for modelling:

  • Ballast Water treatment systems (BWTS)
  • Structure for Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Hull surfaces for stability (Maxsurf, Multisurf and IGES models)
  • Tank volume and ullage charts
  • Assembly systems for replacement sections of structure and plating
  • Assembly systems for lengthening of vessels
  • Access and clash detection for moving large equipment
